Lake County Commission votes to set property tax rate at 13.8 percent
On a 3-2 vote and in spite of overwhelming public protesting, Lake County commissioners finalized the county’s 2015 budget Tuesday and raised the property tax rate to 13.8 percent.
The increase amounts to a tax hike of $84 for a home with a taxable value of $100,000. Commissioners Leslie Campione and Tim Sullivan voted against the budget.

Do you Floridians remember that for over 15 years the commissioner and our state government officials refused to raise our taxes in spite of the need and the begging from the other political party, just to look good at voting times?
Well, for over 15 years we the public fell for their trickery and it is time to pay the piper!
Those commissioners know that a formless threat is just a formless threat and do not fear “We the Public and our weak pointless threats!”
Do not scream useless threats,
DO IT, DUMP THE BUMS!
A total of 37 residents spoke about the tax increase, many of them angrily threatening to vote out the commissioners who vote for it. The attacks got personal, with several residents calling commissioners by name and questioning how the tax increase will have an impact on their families.
